Every Week (Team Leaders will assign and direct.)

Please read the letter below from our Ward Building Cleaning Coordinators and please be prepared to clean on your assigned day or find a substitute to clean the building.

Dear Ward Members,                                                                                                              April 29, 2024

We will be cleaning the ward every month now that we are the only ward using the building. Thank you for your willingness and cooperation to help clean the church. “Many hands make light work.”  A new plan has been put into place for this year.  We would love all able bodied ward members to participate.

We've updated the way our ward does building cleanings. Beginning in May, we will be assigning each ward household a day to clean. We're expecting each household to clean around 3-4 times a year, only. You will receive a text message from the Ward Building Cleaning coordinators leading up to your assigned day. Please reach out to them with questions and thank you for your service!

We encourage you to make this a family activity and involve your children and friends in the cleaning process. The church is divided into five color sections. The cleaning should not take longer than an hour.  You can clean your section at your convenience, on Wednesday.Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Please let your Team Captain know when you have completed your section. Contact your Team Captain or Shirley Sycamore if you need a key, if you decide to clean on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. The Team Captain is not responsible to open the church if you clean on days other than Saturday. He is not responsible to stay while you clean.  For safety reasons you should not be in the church alone cleaning the building. There should always be two adults present, preferably one of them a male. You will have a list of who is cleaning on your day and the Team Captain will contact you with a time on Saturday that works best for everyone.

If you are unable to clean on the day you are assigned, it is your responsibility to trade with another family/single member. Otherwise, your section will not be cleaned for the week. It is not the Team Captain’s responsibility to find a sub for you. If you have an account at lds.org, you can access the ward directory to help you find a sub, also, you will have the list of people for May and June with whom you can trade.

Enclosed will be a map of the church and the colored areas. Each area is numbered 1,2,3,4,5 and color coded so you know exactly what area you are responsible to clean.  Also included will be a list of cleaning duties for your area.

I know with all of us working together we will have success in a nice clean building on Sunday.  This is a great way to fellowship less active members or friends, and especially get to know each other better.

Your Team Captain will be sending text and/or email reminders to you on you assigned week.  Shirley Sycamore and Savannah Call have a key to the building if you need it, but it must be returned to me.

Sincerely,
Shirley Sycamore.  zipperbutton@gmail.com
